Waratah Sponsors the Flavell Family at the BMX World Championship

MOLINE, Illinois (August 30, 2011) — Allan Flavell, Area Manager Product Support in New Zealand, was a proud Dad during the UCI BMX World Championship race in Copenhagen in July. Eighteen thousand fans cheered as BMX riders from around the world competed for titles. Allan’s children, Zach, age 9 and Caitlin, age 6, participated in two days of practice with 300 other riders.

Zach raced against 78 other boys. Though he was disappointed to be knocked out in the 1/8 finals, Zach is anxious to try again.

Caitlin placed fifth in the final for 5-7 girls category, racing against riders who were all older.

The Flavell family will be traveling to Birmingham, England in May 2012 to take another shot at the world titles. Waratah was proud to be a major sponsor of Caitlin and Zach as they represented New Zealand in the BMX World Championship. We wish them good luck in their next race!
